Seamless Integration: Manual to
Automated in 2.5 months
CHALLENGE
San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, using BETA Healthcare Group, relied on a hardcopy manual system for quarterly risk trending and surveillance review. In June of 2012 BETA dictated a change from paper submissions to electronic. Hilary Falconer, Manager of Risk and Performance Improvement, acknowledging the need to transition quickly, reviewed a list of potential vendors provided by BETA and chose Verge Health as a comprehensive solution.
SOLUTION: Verge Health Patient and Safety Application
San Gorgonio began their partnership with Verge Health through the implementation of three modules, Surveillance, Event Management and Peer Review. Utilizing Verge Health’s best practice guidelines, Hilary was able to implement all three modules in two and a half months. Verge Health’s Patient and Safety application’s flexible structure ensured a smooth and seamless activation.
San Gorgonio deployed the Surveillance module to manage their annual Practice Performance Review (PPR) and the Event Management and Peer Review modules to collect event data and transform data into actionable reports.
Tailored Implementation – San Gorgonio transferred all paper documents into the Patient and Safety application removing the need for manual data entry and reentry
Transparent Reporting – The Patient Safety and Peer Review process reduced San Gorgonio’s administrative staff load, and provided consistent and transparent reporting.
Results
The entire implementation took two and half months. San Gorgonio realized immediate results.
